Saints Row and Red Faction will “dwell on” regardless of studio closure

Last week we reported on the unlucky information that Volition – the studio behind the Red Faction and Saints Row franchises – was being shut down by mum or dad firm Embracer Group. Despite the poor reception of 2022’s Saints Row reboot, the ex-studio’s writer has now confirmed that Volition’s franchises will “dwell on.”

Taking to Twitter in response to the announcement of Volition’s closure, Saints Row writer Deep Silver mentioned “Our ideas exit to everybody at @DSVolition, previous and current. We’re extremely grateful for his or her unforgettable work on Saints Row and Red Faction, whose IPs will dwell on at @PLAION.”

For the uninitiated, Plaion was previously often known as Koch Media and is the mum or dad firm for plenty of publishers together with Deep Silver, Prime Matter and Ravenscourt. Even increased up the company ladder you’ll be able to then discover Embracer Group – who’s in command of over a dozen subsidiaries (together with Plaion).

Confusing company buildings apart, it’s disappointing to see the shuttering of Volition after greater than 30 years. Hopefully all the studio’s former IPs find yourself in good palms.

KitGuru says: What do you consider Volition’s closure? Are you saddened by the information? Which studio(s) do you suppose ought to be given the Saints Row / Red faction IPs? Let us know down under.
