Genshin Impact put studio MiHoYo (now often known as Hoyoverse) on the map, with the open-world free-to-play Zelda-like title raking in over $4 Billion since its launch in late 2020. The staff’s subsequent sport following Genshin Impact is the turn-based RPG ‘Honkai: Star Rail. Ahead of its launch on the twenty sixth of April, Hoyoverse revealed that the sport has already surpassed 8 million pre-registrations.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Honkai: Star Rail web page stated: “8,000,000 Pre-registrations Reached! Pre-register now to unlock rewards resembling Star Rail Pass ×20 and the 4-star character Serval (Erudition: Lightning) ×1!”
For the uninitiated, Honkai Star Rail was first introduced in late 2021 and is an upcoming free-to-play turn-based technique RPG which follows on from Hoyoverse’s different Honaki titles (the latest of which was 2016’s Honkai Impact third).
While the sport has been introduced for iOS, Android, PC and PlayStation, the console model isn’t up for pre-registration and has no launch date, that means the 8 million determine applies solely to the cellular and PC variations of Honkai: Star Rail.
This is spectacular when evaluating it to the studio’s earlier title ‘Genshin Impact’ which managed to hit 10 million pre-registrations by the point of the sport’s launch – throughout PC, cellular and PlayStation.
To see Honkai: Star Rail hitting such numbers one month forward of its launch with fewer techniques bodes nicely for the sport’s success – at the very least within the quick run. It might be fascinating to see how reception compares to Genshin Impact each critically and commercially.
