ChatGPT wrote an ordinance for a Brazilian metropolis

Uh oh, Brazilian metropolis lawmakers unknowingly enacted a bit of laws written by ChatGPT, Associated Press experiences.

The laws was handed in October within the southern metropolis of Porto Alegre and this week metropolis council member Ramiro Rosário revealed it was written utilizing the chatbot. According to AP, Rosário requested ChatGPT to write down a proposal to make sure taxpayers do not should pay to exchange water consumption meters. He introduced the proposal to his 35 fellow metropolis council members because the chatbot wrote it with out disclosing the origin of the proposal.

“It could be unfair to the inhabitants to run the chance of the mission not being accepted just because it was written by synthetic intelligence,” Rosário instructed AP. He thought that had he instructed the group that the laws was written by ChatGPT the laws would not be given an opportunity to be voted on.

This is not the chatbot’s first piece of laws both. Here within the United States, Massachusetts State Sen. Barry Finegold sarcastically used ChatGPT to assist write his invoice aiming to require firms that use AI chatbots to implement danger assessments and safety measures for the federal government to know their algorithms.

The use of ChatGPT to write down laws calls into query what the position of the chatbot must be within the authorities and makes authorities rules on the chatbot particularly pressing.
