Piper Laurie, three-time Oscar nominated star of Carrie and Twin Peaks, has died. She was 91.

“An attractive human being and one of many nice skills of our time,” stated Laurie’s supervisor Marion Rosenberg in a press release to Variety.

Born Rosetta Jacobs in Detroit, Michigan in 1932, Laurie was recruited out of her Los Angeles High School at age 17 and signed to a Universal contract for $250 per week, which might improve to $1,750 per week after seven years.
