Nintendo DSi will get a browser exploit, virtually 15 years after its launch

Developer Nathan Farlow has launched Stylehax, an exploit for the Nintendo DSi. In a video showcasing the vulnerability, the hacker is seen working the exploit on a DSi, and launching Twilight Menu++, a homebrew launcher and normal goal menu for hacked Nintendo DS.

The DSi launched in 2008, virtually 15 years in the past, so it’s fairly spectacular to see a brand new exploit being developed for the outdated console. (Though not solely unparalleled. An exploit for the DSi digital camera – reminiscence pit –  was launched 4 years in the past)

What’s Stylehax for Nintendo DSi

Stylehax is a browser exploit for the Nintendo DSi’s built-in browser. It doesn’t require extra {hardware} to set off, apart from an SD card with the boot.nds file (e.g. from Twilight Menu ++).

The exploit leverages some vulnerability within the DSi’s browser CSS library, however we’re ready for a writeup from Nathan for extra particulars on the hack.
