HMV’s resurgence continues, and it’s now introduced that it’s reopening its flagship Oxford Street retailer in London.
We’ve coated a number of instances on this website the story of HMV over the previous couple of years, the final chain promoting bodily movie media on the UK excessive avenue. Last 12 months, the chain was in a position to open extra shops, and whereas outlets are concentrating extra on vinyl LPs and collectables, they nonetheless have a hefty DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray assortment.
In 2019, issues weren’t going as effectively, and it ended up shutting what was once its flagship retailer on Oxford Street. But now, in a shock transfer, we get the information that the exact same retailer – that’s most not too long ago been masquerading as one more American candy store – will probably be reopening, having been reacquired by the HMV group.
The plan will probably be to open it within the chains new HMV Shop format, and thus the structure of the shop will probably be totally different to the way it was. No timescale has, as of but, been confirmed for the return to Oxford Street. The store will reopen this 12 months although.
